Cynthia Funk

Founder & Instructor

Cynthia's passion for yoga instruction inspires and motivates her students to reach their teaching goals and build self-confidence. As well, she offers an open-hearted teaching style, sprinkled with humour.


Karen Cove

Yoga Instructor

Karen has dedicated her life to both the practice and teaching of yoga. She combines an advanced understanding of anatomy and sequencing with a deep compassion for her students.


Shehla Khan

Yoga Instructor

Yoga is a constant part of Shehla’s life. Watching her Grandfather help others using Ayurveda and yoga and healing her childhood shoulder injury made her a true believer of yoga and its benefits.


Kai Riecken

Kai started yoga as part of his dance education at Etobicoke School for the Arts. In addition, Asana practice was used when he studied in England at The London School for Contemporary Dance.


Angela Jervis-Read

Sought out by studios globally, Angela Jervis-Read E-RYT 500, leads international teacher training in both the yin and vinyasa traditions. She is a cutting-edge practitioner that treats PTSD and chronic pain.


Yosh Maeda

Yosh completed the teacher training program at The Yoga Studio in 2004. Yosh brings humour, compassion and playfulness to his teaching coupled with a rare and wholistic knowledge of all things yoga

Brenda McMorrow

Guest Instructor

Brenda McMorrow is a Canadian Devotional Kirtan artist who has had a rich and diverse musical career (from folk to jazz to bluegrass). Now, with a deep devotion to the power of sound, she travels worldwide.

Certified with ESDC since 2008.

Yoga Sanctuary Academy is recognized by ESDC as an accredited school since 2008. Our programs provide students with the skills to enable them to work in a recognized occupation. Successful graduates receive an official Tuition Fee Receipt (T2202A) for Income Tax purposes. Tax receipts are mailed in late February of the year following your training.

All of our Teacher Training Programs are registered and recognized by Canadian Yoga Alliance CYT (Certified Yoga Teacher), Yoga Alliance of the United States RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher).

Take our 250-hour foundation program to become a Certified Yoga Teacher. As well, our advanced programs are designed to develop your teaching skills.
